Viktor Gavrishev told reporters he and his "Solar Wind" watercraft would cast off La Gomera, the smallest of the Canary Islands, on December 10.
He said he expected to reach Antigua, 3,000 nautical miles away in the Caribbean,"65 or 70 days later."
