A spokesman for Baturina's construction firm Inteko today said today that Baturina is seeking a total of 213,000 rubles ($8,100) in compensation over a quote attributed to her in the magazine's December edition.

The quote on the cover of the magazine said: "My protection is guaranteed.”

The spokesman said Baturina was misquoted, giving the impression that Inteko is supported by state organs.

A lawyer for the magazine's publisher, German media giant Axel Springer, told Interfax the suit is "unfounded."
