Iraqi President Falls Ill, Goes To Jordan For Tests


Iraqi President Jalal Talabani (file photo) (epa) February 25, 2007 -- Iraqi President Jalal Talabani is sick and flew to Jordan today for tests.


A statement by the president's office says that "because of the continual hard work over the course of recent days, President Talabani has fallen ill.


It added that doctors have asked for more tests to be done and he has gone to Jordan for them to be completed.


Talabani, who is an ethnic Kurd, has been Iraqi president since April 2005.
