More Than 40 Killed In Iraq Violence


The site of a car bombing in Baghdad's central Al-Karradah district today (epa) February 27, 2007 -- Iraqi police say that a car-bomb blast killed 18 people, mostly children, at a park in the town of Al-Ramadi, the latest in a series of deadly bombings around Iraq today.

Earlier, in the northern city of Mosul, a suicide truck bomber targeted a police station, killing six officers.

In central Baghdad, a car bombing killed five people. And in the southeast of the city, five people were killed by a roadside bomb.

Also today, the U.S. military said that three U.S. soldiers were killed in a roadside-bomb blast southwest of the capital.
