Iraqi Premier Announces Impending Cabinet Reshuffle


Prime Minister al-Maliki (file photo) (epa) March 4, 2007 -- Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki says he will reshuffle his multiparty cabinet within two weeks -- a move expected to replace underperforming ministers.


Al-Maliki made the announcement in a television interview today.

He had been pledging a shake-up of his national unity government for several months. The prime minister also spoke of a March 10 security conference in Baghdad as an opportunity to forge international "agreement and harmony.
