The case of Mirko Norac and Rahim Ademi -- accused of allowing their troops to kill Serbian civilians during a military operation in 1993 -- is the first to be transferred to Croatia from the UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague.
The two generals pleaded not guilty. The case is seen as an important gauge of Croatia's judiciary as the country bids for membership of the European Union.
