Moscow, April 10 (RFE/RL) - Russian President Boris Yeltsin will visit China on April 24-26 for talks with the Chinese
leadership.
Details of the trip are sketchy but our Moscow correspondent says Yeltsin will sign an oil deal calling for the transfer of oil from the Russian Republic of Yakutya to China through North Korean territory. Japan is to assist Russia in the deal.
Yeltsin will also reportedly discuss an agreement on borders with China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
China's official Xinhua News Agency says Yeltsin, who first visited China in 1992, is expected to visit Beijing and Shanghai on this latest trip. A heart problem forced Yeltsin to postpone a trip to China last November.
