Bucharest, May 3 (RFE/RL) - NATO Secretary-General Javier
Solana arrived in Bucharest today and tried to reassure Romania it is not forgotten in the alliance's expansion plans.
Arriving from Bulgaria, Solana told reporters that no decision has been taken about the countries that may be invited one day to join the alliance.
Solana said, NATO is now "in the phase of bilateral debates and we'll see in the end how we proceed." He said the process of talks on admission would go on through 1996. Bucharest is Solana's last stop on a tour which has already taken him to Prague, Bratislava, Tirana and Sofia.
