Prague, June 21 (RFE/RL) - The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) will sponsor a four-day seminar in Kyiv next week on the enforcement of competitive economic policies. The seminar starts on Monday.
Gary Hewitt, of the OECD's Competition and Consumer Affairs Division in Paris, says the seminar will promote the transition to market economics by focusing on national efforts to prohibit anti-competitive practices.
Hewitt said recent competition cases in Ukraine will be used as examples. He said participants would include about 40 senior officials from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine's central and territorial offices.
Hewitt said a panel of experts from Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the OECD will guide and inform the discussions.
