(RFE/RL) -- A Tehran revolutionary court has sentenced political activist Azar Mansouri to three years in prison, her lawyer told RFE/RL's Radio Farda.
Mansouri is the deputy head of Iran's largest reform party, the Islamic Iran Participation Front. She was arrested by security forces in September during the crackdown that followed the disputed June presidential elections.
Mansouri's lawyer, Mohammad Reza Faghihi, said the charges against his client included endangering national security, spreading propaganda against the regime, and disturbing public order by participating in rallies.
ILNA reported today that Mansouri and Behzad Nabavi, a leader of the Islamic Revolution Mujahedin, are free on bail until April 4.
Mansouri is among dozens of Iranian activists who have been sentenced to prison since last year’s presidential elections. Two of the charges against her -- endangering national security and spreading propaganda against the regime -- are routinely brought against political activists.
The government on March 15 said Mansouri's party had been banned and its offices closed down.
