PINSK, Belarus -- The victims of a deadly explosion at a plywood plant in the southwestern Belarusian town of Pinsk will be commemorated every year, RFE/RL's Belarus Service reports.
The Pinsk Municipal Council decided today that local authorities and the plant's management should organize the annual event, which occurred on October 25.
The council also decided to place a memorial plaque at the site of the blast before the first anniversary of the tragedy.
The tragic incident was caused by the explosion of two boilers in the plant's workshop. Fourteen employees were killed by the blast and seven are still in hospital, two of them in very serious condition.
