The U.S. military says it has led 17 air strikes on Islamic State (IS) targets in Iraq and Syria since November 24.
The U.S. Central Command said in November 26 that the strikes, part of Operation Inherent Resolve against the militant Islamic force, included 10 attacks near the Syrian border town of Kobani, where Kurdish fighters are engaged in a protracted battle with IS militants.
It said four staging areas and six fighting positions were destroyed; IS units were also hit.
The statement said that in Iraq, U.S. and allied forces destroyed vehicles, buildings, and a fighting position near Mosul and hit a large IS unit.
Targets also were hit near Kirkuk, north of Sinjar, west of Baiji, and northwest of Ramadi in the western province of Anbar.
