Investigators in the southern Russian city of Orenburg are analyzing online footage apparently showing a group of teenage girls performing an erotic dance.
Local media reports said that the girls performed "a bees' dance" wearing orange-and-black striped costumes.
The Investigative Committee's department in Orenburg said the the video circulating on the Internet since April 13 was "a group erotic dance [performed] by underage girls."
Investigators are currently trying to identify the girls and check their age.
Media reports say the girls depicted in the video are high-school students who have been attending a dance school named Kredo.
The video sparked furious comments online, including one condemning the show as "humiliating" the orange-and-black St. George ribbon.
The ribbon has been associated with commemorations of the 1945 victory over Nazi Germany, but is now worn by some in Russia to express support for Russian-backed separatists in Ukraine.
