Russian opposition leader Aleksei Navalny has been jailed more than 10 times and has spent hundreds of days in custody since 2011. He was flown to Germany for treatment in August 2020 after a near-fatal poisoning in Russia. On January 17, he flew back to Moscow and was detained at Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport. On February 2, he was ordered to serve 2 years and 8 months in prison.
