BRYANSK, Russia -- Twelve hunger strikers at the No. 111 military plant in the Russian city of Bryansk have been hospitalized.
The workers had been on a hunger strike for 10 days demanding payment of their overdue salaries.
The plant's employees told RFE/RL's Russian Service that about 400 workers have not been paid for their work since early summer last year.
They also said that the hunger strike was successful and Russia's Defense Ministry has allocated the necessary sum to cover the plant's debts to its workers.
