MOSCOW -- Russia says it will provide humanitarian food aid to Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to help them deal with the global economic crisis, RFE/RL's Russian Service reports.
Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry says it is going to send 7,500 tons of flour to Tajikistan and 4,500 tons to Kyrgyzstan from Moscow.
The aid is to be provided to the two Central Asian states as Russia's contribution to the Fund of the International Civil Defense Organization.
Earlier this year, Russia provided Tajikistan with 9,500 tons of flour as its contribution to the United Nation's World Food Program.
