JALAL-ABAD, Kyrgyzstan -- The Kyrgyz government plans to allocate 17 million soms ($365,000) to rebuild the headquarters of the Jalal-Abad Oblast Television Company, RFE/RL's Kyrgyz Service reports.
The company's general director, Kuttumidin Bazarkulov, told RFE/RL today that 10 construction companies will take part in the tender to select the contractor. Five other companies will compete for the right to provide construction materials.
The Jalal-Abad Oblast Television Company building was totally destroyed during violent clashes between ethnic Uzbeks and Kyrgyz in southern Kyrgyzstan in mid-June.
