DUSHANBE -- Reversing an earlier decision, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon says he will take part in the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Eurasian Economic Community summits scheduled to start in Moscow on February 4, RFE/RL's Tajik Service reports.
Tajik Foreign Ministry spokesman Davlat Nazriev says Rahmon will leave for Moscow late in the day on February 3.
The Tajik Foreign Ministry had announced last weekend that Rahmon had canceled all trips in the first week of Februray due to the energy shortages and economic difficulties in Tajikistan.
It is expected that Rahmon will report to summit participants about the difficult situation in Tajikistan caused by the global economic crisis and the laying off of thousands of Tajik migrant workers in Russia.
