Gulnara Karimova, the daughter of the Uzbek president and the country's representative to the United Nations in Geneva, has created a special jewelry collection for renowned Swiss company Chopard.
The joint project, "Guli for Chopard," will be unveiled at the international watch and jewelry show in Basel next week. Karimova has said all the profits from the project will go to charity.
Often dubbed the "Uzbek princess," Karimova has always said jewelry design has been a part of her business activities as well as her favorite hobby.
She has her own brand, Guli, that also includes clothes, interior and table design. In Uzbekistan, her business interests include holiday resorts and a mobile phone company.
The 37-year-old, who was educated at Harvard, also made a name for herself as a pop-singer, performing under the name of GooGoosha.
It is widely thought that her father, Islam Karimov, is grooming Gulnara as his successor.
