Afghans Executed In Iran Return Home
The bodies of three Afghan refugees who were executed by Iranian authorities were returned to their families and buried on March 10 in Afghanistan's Takhar Province. Residents of the district of Kalafgan gathered to condemn the executions of the Afghans, who were convicted of drug trafficking. The use of the death penalty in Iran against Afghan refugees has raised concerns from international human rights groups, which question whether the accused have received fair trials.
