Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahri has confirmed in a video recording the death of his deputy, Abu Yahya al-Libi.
Reports say that in the video, Zawahri confirms that al-Libi was killed in a drone strike in Pakistan's Waziristan tribal area in June.
The White House has described al-Libi as an operational leader and a "general manager" of Al-Qaeda.
Al-Libi is the latest in the dozen-plus senior commanders removed in the U.S. war against Al-Qaeda since U.S. Navy commandos killed Osama bin Laden last year.
