At Least 18 Killed In Three Attacks In Northwest Pakistan

PARACHINAR -- Three attacks in northwestern Pakistan on February 14 have left at least 18 dead and scores more injured.

A suspected suicide bomber killed six and injured eight people in the Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. Officials say the bomber targeted a checkpoint.

Another attack killed seven members of a pro-government militia in the nearby Orakzai tribal area. Officials said a roadside bomb exploded near the militiamen's vehicle in the village of Hassanzo.

In the third attack, at least five suicide bombers attacked a police post in the city of Bannu, wounding one police officer. Bannu police chief Nisar Tanoli told the Associated Press that three of the bombers detonated their explosive vests while the police shot dead the other two attackers.
