Desperate Crowds Swell At Kabul Airport

Tens of thousands of people are still waiting outside the airport in Kabul on August 21. Many have been waiting for days now at access points to the Hamid Karzai International Airport, hoping to be airlifted following U.S. President Joe Biden’s new pledge to help those who supported the U.S. campaign over the last 20 years. In footage provided by UK broadcaster Sky, British troops can be seen attempting to calm down crowds as time is running out ahead of Biden’s August 31 deadline to withdraw most remaining U.S. troops.
