Belarusian opposition activist Paval Seviarynets has been released from jail after completing a three-year term for organizing a mass disturbance.

The leader of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Party was freed on the morning of October 19.

Seviarynets was arrested along with other opposition activists after participating in a protest rally following the country's presidential election on December 19, 2010.

He was the campaign manager for an opposition candidate.

Thousands of protesters took part in the opposition rally against what they described as a rigged election victory for authoritarian President Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
