Bomb Kills Five At Pakistan Meeting Before Minister Arrives

An explosion thought to have been set off by a suicide bomber has killed at least five people and injured more than 20 at a political rally in northwestern Pakistan.

A cabinet minister from the Pakistan Muslim League-Q party had been scheduled to attend the rally near the Swat valley on July 11. But Minister without Portfolio Amir Muqam had not yet arrived at the venue when the bomb exploded.

No group immediately claimed responsibility, but the Pakistani Taliban have often targeted Pakistani officials and security forces.
