When The Berlin Wall Tumbled
On the night of November 9, 1989, East Germans streamed through checkpoints on the Berlin Wall, ending the Cold War division of the city. Within hours, the Wall was the scene of a huge open-air party - with some Berliners standing on top of the Wall swigging champagne, while others hacked at it with pickaxes. Twenty five years on, the pictures are as powerful and moving as on the historic night they were filmed. (Reuters)
