But a member of Iran's largest reformist student group, the "Office to Foster Unity" tells Radio Farda that the government has not been able to stop people's post-election protests by cracking down on students: "Basically a social movement has been shaped in Iran, which motivates the university students as well."
Political Activist Sentenced to Death
December 6 -- Tehran's Revolutionary Court has sentenced Ayoub Porkar to death on charge of "enmity with God" for membership in People's Mujahedin Organization of Iran (MKO). In an interview with Radio Farda, Porkar's lawyer says that he was not a member of the MKO, but only a supporter of its beliefs: "My client was repeatedly interrogated for his political beliefs, as a result of which he was sentenced to death."
