Three Dead, Hundreds Evacuated After Floods Hit Western Ukraine

Heavy rains have caused widespread flooding in western Ukraine, with rising waters forcing the evacuation of at least 800 people from their homes. The Ukrainian Interior Ministry said 187 villages had been affected and 5,000 buildings had been damaged by the worst floods the region has seen in a decade.

Three people were killed in the Verkhovyna district of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, an area that has been cut off by flooded roads.
