Attacks across Iraq have killed at least 47 people, most of them Shi’ite Muslims.

Most of the attacks occurred in Baghdad, with bombs exploding in at least four districts of the Iraqi capital.

Twin car bombs exploded in northern Baghdad's Shaab district, killing eight people.

Another bombing at a market in the Shula district killed at least four civilians and two police officers.

Some 60 kilometers northeast of Baghdad, a bomb exploded near a funeral, killing nine people and wounding more than 20 others.

Eight people were reported killed in a series of attacks in the northern city of Mosul.

A shoot-out in the northwestern town of Baaj left four police officers and seven militants dead.

The violence comes one day after a series of attack north of Baghdad killed at least 45 people.
