A suicide car bomber has killed several people and injured many more near a police checkpoint on the edge of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
According to some media reports, the blast killed seven people, while others report six dead.
Around 20 people were injured during the morning rush-hour blast.
The explosion occurred outside a branch of the police intelligence department in the mostly Shi'ite neighborhood of Kadhimiyah.
At least three of the dead were reportedly police security officers.
No group has taken responsibility for the blast, although sectarian violence between Sunnis and Shi'a is on the rise.
