A suicide bomber has used a car bomb to attack a police convoy in northern Iraq.
Eight police officers were killed in the attack on Sunday in the town of Tuz Khurmatu, which is in a swathe of territory including the city of Tikrit that the autonomous Kurdish region seeks to incorporate.
Nine police officers were reportedly injured in the attack.
More than 720 people have been killed in violent incidents in Iraq in July.
Meanwhile, an official with Iraq's North Oil Company said July 28 that a bomb attack late on July 27 has halted the flow of oil through the Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline.
The attack occurred near the city of Mosul.
The official said it would take about 72 hours to repair the damage.
