OSH, Kyrgyzstan -- A suspect has been arrested in connection with last week's killing of a high-ranking anticorruption police officer in Kyrgyzstan's southern region of Osh.
The chief of the Interior Ministry's Department to Fight Organized Crime and Corruption, Colonel Tolkunbek Shonoev, was shot dead near his house in the village of Dyikan-Kushtak on January 11.
Osh regional prosecutor Aibek Turganbaev told RFE/RL that the State Committee for National Security detained the suspect in Bishkek on January 13.
The prosecutor said the suspect is now being questioned.
The suspect's name was not made public, reportedly for security reasons.
