Live Blog: Presidential Debate in Iran -- Foreign Policy

Frud Bezhan and RFE/RL editors were on hand to live-blog the third and final debate with Iran's presidential candidates on June 7. While the first two debates dealt with mainly domestic issues, the third installment covered politics and foreign policy. Read how events unfolded here.

Velayati slams Jalili's nuclear negotiations, saying his diplomacy is not actually diplomacy. Velayati says Jalili is not being rational in talks with P5+1. Velayati says Jalili's duty is to protect Iran's nuclear rights and to get sanctions on the country removed. None of them have been achieved, Velayati says.

Rohani: Nuclear issue will only be resolved with real negotiations, not just announcements. Iran's foreign policy should be in the hands of skilled, experienced people not people who don't know what they're talking about. Only then will we succeed in negotiations.
