All 229 people who were hospitalized last week with poisoning symptoms in Russia's North Caucasus Chechen Republic have been released from hospitals.
The republic's Health Ministry said the last 116 patients were discharged on June 10.
Last week, a state commission investigating the incident in the republic’s eastern district of Nozhai-Yurt excluded tainted springwater as the cause.
Now, the residents of the village of Ishkhoi-Yurt say they suspect the poisoning may have been caused by the improper use of agricultural chemicals.
The commission, led by Chechen Prime Minister Abubakar Edelgeriev, is continuing to investigate the incident.
Officials in the Chechen capital, Grozny, have recommended that residents not drink tap water for now.
