Pakistani authorities say they have recovered the bodies of 10 soldiers in an exchange with Taliban militants following a clash last month in the northwestern tribal region.
Military officials said the 10 soldiers had been missing in Orakzai district since December 21 when rebels attacked a checkpoint and killed at least 13 other troops.
Ehsanullah Ehsan, a spokesman for the Pakistani Taliban, said that under the exchange, the militants recovered the bodies of 10 fighters killed in the clash.
The exchange comes four days after the corpses of 15 Pakistani paramilitaries were found in the North Waziristan tribal region near the Afghan border, almost two weeks after they had been kidnapped.
