More Than 60 Dead In Attacks In Iraq


A series of attacks across Iraq since May 28 have left at least 60 people dead and raised the death toll from attacks this year in Iraq to more than 4,000.

Most of the attacks came late on May 28, the deadliest happening in Baghdad's mainly Shi'ite Kadhimiyah neighborhood when a suicide bomber detonated a vehicle packed with explosives.

At least 16 people were killed and 52 others wounded.

There were at least three more car bombings in Baghdad overnight that killed around 20 more people.

Many people go out to shop late at night after temperatures have dropped.

Other attacks were reported in Mosul, where at least two car bombs exploded, killing 21 people.

There were also several shootings reported around the country.
