Pakistani opposition leader Imran Khan and his political party have retracted reports that two of their supporters were killed by police during clashes in the capital, Islamabad.
A statement issued by Khan's Tehrik-e Insaf (PTI) party on November 1 said that after examining events, "no human life was lost in the conflict."
Khan tweeted the same day that he was "glad to learn" no opposition activists were killed in the clashes with police.
Earlier on November 1, a PTI spokeswoman said two of its supporters had been killed overnight as a direct result of police usage of tear gas aimed at preventing hundreds of demonstrators from coming to Islamabad for a mass demonstration.
The PTI, which is Pakistan's second-largest opposition party, later canceled the rally planned for November 2 which was going to call for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resign because of alleged corruption involving his family in the Panama Papers scandal.
Khan said the demonstration was canceled due to a top court ordering a judicial commission to investigate the alleged financial scandal.
