Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud is on the third and final day of a visit to Islamabad on February 17, with plans to meet Pakistan’s top military leadership.
The crown prince, who is Saudi Arabia’s deputy prime minister and minister of defense, was expected to sign a security pact with Pakistani authorities during his meetings with Pakistani Army and intelligence officials.
Since his arrival on February 15, his talks have included meetings with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain.
Officials in Islamabad say those talks focused on how to improve cooperation on regional and international interests such as security, economic development, and Islamic issues.
The crown prince’s delegation includes the Saudi minister of state for foreign affairs, as well as the ministers of economy and planning, and of commerce and industry.
The delegation also includes Saudi businessmen who have been meeting with Pakistani business leaders.
