A court in Pakistan has dropped charges against a U.S. agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) who was arrested earlier this month for trying to carry ammunition onto a plane.

Police said on May 19 that the judge dismissed the case against Joel Cox after a letter was produced from the Ministry of Interior verifying the agent was allowed to carry a weapon while in Pakistan.

Cox was arrested on May 5 at the airport in the southern city of Karachi after he tried to board an Islamabad-bound civilian flight while carrying knives and bullets.

He was freed on $10,000 bail on May 8.
