The photo of a Turkish gendarmerie carrying the body of 3-year-old Syrian Aylan Kurdi, whose body washed up on a beach in Bodrum, dominated the front pages of newspapers around the world on September 3. Aylan's 5-year-old brother and mother also died when their boat capsized as it headed for Greece.
