Polish authorities say security forces are on high alert in Warsaw ahead of the evening's highly anticipated match between rivals Poland and Russia in the Euro 2012 championship.
Poland's Euro 2012 host organization says 9,800 Russian and 29,300 Polish fans have tickets for the Group A match.
Police have declined to say how many officers are being deployed to guard against possible unrest surrounding the match between Poland and Russia, which share centuries of complicated relations, most recently the legacy of Soviet domination of Poland after World War II.
Police earlier said at least 6,000 officers would be on duty in Warsaw during Euro 2012.
In the early Group A game on June 12, Greece will face the Czech Republic in Wroclaw.
