“I know that it is not easy for many,” Putin says in regards to the economic situation. It is complicated, but not critical, he emphasizes.
Russia should not wait for oil prices to grow. We have to be ready for the fact that sanctions and low prices will stay with us for a while, he says.
To better its economic situation, Russia must:
1. Change the structure of its economy;
2. Provide special support programs for industries at risk (machinery, light industry among others);
3. Provide social security for those in need;
4. Balance the country’s budget -- the deficit shouldn’t exceed 3 percent;
5. Strengthern trust between the government and business.
The state will provide all necessary support to those who are ready to become leaders, Putin says about building businesses and investing in Russia.
“Russia needs companies that are not only able to provide Russia with high-quality produce, but to win over the world market as well.”
Putin says Russia should fully provide itself with domestic produce by 2020. Russia has everything to become the world’s largest supplier of healthy and eco-produce, as well.
