MOSCOW -- A judge has adjourned the trial of five men suspected of involvement in the murder of Russian investigative reporter Anna Politkovskaya until January 28, after the defendants all pleaded not guilty.

The trial resumed on January 25 after being postponed twice following the formation of a new jury earlier this month.

The previous jury was dismissed in November after three jurors did not show up.

The delays represent further setbacks in the case's turbulent court process, which has so far only led to one conviction.

Politkovskaya was an outspoken journalist who reported on atrocities committed by pro-Kremlin armed groups in Chechnya.

She was gunned down in 2006 in her apartment block in Moscow.

Three of the defendants were acquitted of similar charges in 2009 and are being retried.
