Former U.S. intelligence worker Edward Snowden has met with his father at an undisclosed location in the Moscow area.
Lon Snowden arrived in Moscow on October 10, hoping to meet with his son, who took refuge in Russia after leaking information about U.S. spying efforts in the United States and foreign countries.
Russia's Interfax news agency cited a "source" as saying on October 11 that the meeting between father and son "has already taken place and it was very emotional."
The Russian government granted the younger Snowden one-year temporary asylum on August 1.
The U.S. government has been demanding Snowden be handed over to U.S. custody.
Snowden's Russian lawyer Anatoly Kucherena said he would soon speak to the media about the meeting between Lon and Edward Snowden.
