Russia Emergency Situations Ministry is working to extinguish more than 100 wildfires across areas of Siberia.
Blazes reported in the Orenburg area, around Lake Baikal, the Amur region, the Birobidzhan Autonomous Oblast, the Primorsky Krai, and Far East, have already burned nearly 6,000 hectares of land as of April 20.
The Emergency Situations Ministry said it has some 5,000 pieces of equipment working to contain the fires, including airplanes and helicopters.
The ministry said its planes have been dropping some 1,000 tons of water daily on the affected areas for the last several days.
