Authorities in Moscow say a second suspect has been detained in a case related to this month's deadly train collision near Moscow.
Russian Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin said on May 29 that the director of the Moscow-Kyiv railway line, Aleksei Vinogradov, 32, was detained for "violation of track maintenance regulations that led to multiple deaths."
Last week, Markin said that the supervisor of the line stretch, Aleksandr Sokolov, 41, had been detained as part of an ongoing criminal investigation.
According to Markin, the drivers of the two trains that collided on May 20 near the town of Naro-Fominsk had not been informed about repair works along the track.
Six people -- all Moldovan citizens -- were killed and 24 were hospitalized as a result of the collision.
