A Serbian court has sentenced seven former Bosnian Serb paramilitaries to up to 20 years in prison over the murder of Romany civilians during the 1992-1995 Bosnian war.
The Belgrade-based war crimes court found the seven guilty of killing 28 Roma, including a pregnant woman and seven children. They also raped and beat several women.
The crimes were committed in 1992 in villages around the eastern Bosnian town of Zvornik.
Two of the defendants were each given a 20-year prison sentence, two were jailed for 10 years.
Two more members were sentenced to five-year prison terms each, while another was given a two-year prison sentence.
During the trial, prosecutors said the way the crimes had been committed showed "an absence of any humanity" on the part of the perpetrators.
