The Bosnian State Prosecutor's Office says it has filed terrorism charges against three people accused of carrying out a shooting attack on the U.S. embassy in Sarajevo last October.
Prosecutors said on April 23 that Mevlid Jasarevic, Emrah Fojnica, and Munib Ahmetspahic have been charged with preparing and carrying out the attack, which injured a local policeman.
The attack was allegedly aimed at forcing NATO to withdraw from Afghanistan.
Jasarevic is accused of firing an automatic rifle at the U.S. embassy for 50 minutes before authorities shot him in the leg.
The two other defendants are accused of obtaining the weapon and later trying to hide evidence.
The men allegedly are followers of Wahhabism, a strict brand of Sunni Islam.
