AP is reporting fresh clashes between protesters and police in downtown Washington blocks from President Donald Trump's inauguration parade route.
According to CNN, more than 90 protesters have been arrested by police.
According to AP, police have deployed pepper spray and made numerous arrests during confrontations blocks from Donald Trump's inauguration.
Police said in a statement that a group of about 100 protesters damaged vehicles, destroyed property and set small fires while armed with crowbars and hammers.
The confrontation happened before the inauguration.
Several hours later, according to AP, the crowd had grown to 1,000, some wearing gas masks and with arms chained together inside PVC pipe.

British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has sent his "warmest congratulations" to Trump.
In some of the first foreign reaction to Trump's inauguration, German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel said in a TV interview that Trump's election as U.S. president was a result of "bad radicalization."
The new president and his vice president, along with their families, will lead the parade from the steps of the Capitol down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House. More than 8,000 parade participants are expected, representing 40 organizations -- including first responders (police, firemen, etc.) and veterans' groups, high-school and university bands, and others.
