MAKHACHKALA, Russia -- U.S. officials in the capital of Russia's North Caucasus republic of Daghestan have met for a second day with the mother of the suspected Boston Marathon bombers, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
North Caucasus human rights activist Kheda Saratova told RFE/RL that Zubeidat Tsarnaeva was being questioned inside the local headquarters of Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB).
On April 23, a U.S. Embassy official confirmed U.S. investigators had traveled to Daghestan.
The U.S. officials reportedly questioned both Tsarnaeva and the accused bombers' father, Anzor Tsarnaev, on April 23.
Tamerlan and Dzhokhar are accused of the April 15 Boston Marathon bombings that left three dead and at least 260 injured.
Tamerlan was killed during a shoot-out with police on April 19. Dzhokhar was captured later that day.
